The Sacramento Kings acquired small forward Rudy Gay from the Toronto Raptors as part of a seven-player deal Monday.
The Kings also obtained center Aaron Gray and small forward Quincy Acy in exchange for point guard Greivis Vasquez, small forward John Salmons, and power forwards Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes.
Gay, who was averaging 19.4 points-per-game with the Raptors, brings offensive talent to the Kings, and will join a front-court of DeMarcus Cousins and Derrick Williams. The former first-round draft pick joins his third team in three years. Gay’s 2012-2013 campaign was spent with the Memphis Grizzlies, the team who drafted him, before he was traded to the Raptors in January.
For the Raptors, the trade allows them to shed Gay’s contract, which has another year, and $20 million left on it.
