The Kansas City Chiefs remained unbeaten with strong play in all facets of their game Sunday, defeating the New York Giants 31-7.

The Chiefs scored three offensive touchdowns, a special teams touchdown and received a solid performance from their defense, who forced three turnovers. The Chiefs opened the scoring thirteen seconds into the second quarter, when quarterback Alex Smith tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Sean McGrath.

Under a minute later, the Giants tied the game up 7-7, after Eli Manning found Victor Cruz on a 69-yard touchdown pass. The game went into halftime 10-7 in favor of the Chiefs, as kicker Ryan Succop hit a 51-yard field goal two minutes before the break.

Return specialist and wide receiver Dexter McCluster extended the Chiefs lead in the third quarter when he took a punt off the foot of Steve Weatherford 89 yards to the end zone. Smith threw two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and the Chiefs wrapped up their 24-point victory.

Smith completed 24 of 41 passes for 288 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. His counterpart, Manning, threw for 217 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The Chiefs defense held the Giants to 98 yards rushing, and more importantly, allowed the Giants to convert only one of 14 third down conversions attempts.

The Chiefs (4-0) will battle the Tennessee Titans Sunday, and look to remain undefeated on the season. The Giants (0-4) will be looking for their first win of the season when they face off against the Philadelphia Eagles.
