New York Jets running back Mike Goodson will miss the remainder of this season after tearing the ACL and MCL in his left knee Sunday afternoon in the Jets 19-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Goodson announced the news Monday via his Twitter account, after undergoing an MRI that confirmed the injury.
Sunday was only Goodson’s second game of the season, due to a four-game suspension he received from the NFL for violating the league’s substance abuse policy during the offseason. In May, Goodson was arrested on drug and weapons charges. His case is still pending in New Jersey.
Goodson was injured when his teammate, guard Brian Winters, attempted to tackle Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons following an interception. With Goodson already engaged with Timmons, Winters dove to tackle Timmons, but struck Goodson’s knee by accident.
In his two games on the season, Goodson rushed for 61 yards on seven carries.
