The Seattle Seahawks defense allowed the most points against in a game this season, but the ‘Hawks moved to 3-0 behind a massive offensive attack in a 45-17 shellacking of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Seahawks defense has allowed only 27 points through three games this season. The defense sacked Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne three times and forced three turnovers- two interceptions and a fumble.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson led the scintillating offense, tossing two touchdowns each to tight end Zach Miller and wide receiver Sidney Rice. Wilson threw for 202 yards and the four touchdowns, and was removed from the game in the third quarter with the ‘Hawks up 31-7. Backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson completed 7 of 8 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown in relief.
The Seahawks opened up a 24-0 lead before halftime. Wilson hit Miller for touchdowns of 1-yard and a 4-yard. Kicker Steven Hauschka added a field goal connected with Rice on a 21-yard field goal, before Wilson struck again on an 11-yard touchdown pass to Rice.
The Jaguars struggled offensively and managed only 51 yards rushing, 43 of those from starting running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
The Seahawks will move onward to face their next opponent, the Houston Texans. The Jaguars (0-3) will look to snap out of their losing ways against the division rival Indianapolis Colts.
